Come see us at iPadpalooza

iPadpalooza is a three-day event held at Westlake High School in Austin, TX. It is taking place between June 22nd and June 24th, 2016. This learning festival is a celebration of the cultural-shift the iPad has brought about in education and the world in general. This event will focus on creativity, social collaboration, engagement and the compelling ways schools have integrated iPads into their classrooms.

At BookWidgets, we care a lot about this kind of event. That is why we have decided to become one of iPadpalooza’s sponsors for this year. Not only will we be present with a booth where you can visit us, we will also be hosting a talk.

The overall theme of the event being “movies”, we put together a fun presentation titled “How to become an E.T. (Extraordinary Teacher) with the help of ICT and cognitive science”.

In this talk, Bart will share some of the history behind BookWidgets and the cognitive science principles we built it upon. With our product now being used in thousands of schools all over the world, we at BookWidgets have gained a good understanding of what works and what does not work in the classroom. We will share some of these findings and let you explore the wonderful world of the Extraordinary Teacher. Bonus: all examples given will be inspired by Steven Spielberg’s E.T.

Come say “Hi”, or follow along on Twitter

Will you be visiting iPadpalooza? Then stop by our booth to say hi - we love meeting up with our users. We also hope to see you during our presentation, but next to our own talk, we also recommend the keynotes given by our friends Cathy Hunt and Christine DiPaulo.

Can’t make it there? Well, we’re going to make sure you won’t miss anything! Follow us on Twitter where we’ll be showing pictures and sharing everything you need to know, hot of the press. You can also follow the global event by following the #IPLZA16 hashtag.

A special offer to celebrate summer

Sorry Aussie friends, but summer is just around the corner here! To celebrate, we have an unprecedented offer for everyone that has not tried BookWidgets yet:

That’s right, as a new user, you can get BookWidgets for free for 3 months! This way you can experiment and prepare lessons for the upcoming school year. If after 3 months you’re not convinced BookWidgets is right for you, you don’t need to do anything, you won’t be charged. But if you want to continue using BookWidgets after 3 months, just buy a subscription through our website (they start at $50/year). Simple as that!

To take advantage of this summer offer, sign up here before July 15th.

(Already have a BookWidgets subscription? Do your poor BookWidgets-deprived colleagues a favor and spread the word about our offer to them on Twitter, Facebook or Pinterest. Thanks so much!)

Have a great time at iPadpalooza, and a happy summer!

P.S. To get you in the iPadpalooza mood, here’s a fun little widget to try:
